Make Every Contact Count: Volunteer Field Training- How to blockwalk and phonebank

Join DFW Progressives and the Collin County Young Democrats for "Make Every Contact Count", a free volunteer training designed to make you more effective wherever you meet voters, at the doors, on the phone, at community events, or through your own relationships. Weโ€™ll break down the fundamentals of effective voter contact and how individual conversations become part of a larger organizing strategy. What weโ€™ll cover: - Making stronger, more meaningful voter contacts - Block walking and Phone banking etiquette. - Community and campaign events - Relational organizing using REACH to follow-up - GOTV and turning conversations into action This isn't just about learning a script. It's about understanding why we make contact, what makes a good conversation, and what happens after that conversation. Whether this is your first campaign or you've knocked knocked a few doors, you'll leave with practical skills you can use to help your favorite candidate or cause. Friday, September 4th at 5:30 PM Training is free and open to everyone. No previous campaign or organizing experience is required. Hosted by Darrel Evans with DFW Progressives, in partnership with the Collin County Young Democrats.

Relational Organizing with REACH: Hands-On Block Walk In-Person Training

Learn it. Practice it. Then take it directly to the doors. Join DFW Progressives and the Collin County Young Democrats for a hands-on training on relational organizing with REACH, immediately before the CCYD Labor Day Block Walk. REACH helps organizers turn everyday conversations and voter contacts into useful relationships that campaigns and organizations can build on. Here is a LINK to a self guided REACH training that we recommend that you take before hand!: https://www.mobilize.us/poweredxpeople/event/884993/ During this training, we'll cover: - The basics of relational organizing - How and why we use REACH - Finding and adding people in REACH - Recording information from voter conversations - Using REACH while block walking - Practical tips for using the tool effectively in the field And then we're going to put it into practice immediately. After the training, we'll head out for the CCYD Labor Day Block Walk, giving volunteers an opportunity to use what they just learned at the doors. Monday, September 7 Training begins at 9:00 AM No previous REACH or canvassing experience is required. New volunteers are absolutely welcome. Bring a fully charged smartphone, comfortable walking shoes, and come ready to learn โ€” then hit the doors. Hosted by DFW Progressives in partnership with the Collin County Young Democrats. Private information after signup Thanks for signing up for Relational Organizing with REACH! This is a hands-on training followed immediately by the CCYD Labor Day Block Walk, so please come prepared to head into the field after training. Please bring: - A fully charged smartphone - Comfortable walking shoes - Water - Weather-appropriate clothing If you already have REACH installed, please make sure you can log in before arriving.
