Who we are
About CCYD
Collin County Young Democrats mobilizes young people across the county to support Democratic candidates, build community, and develop the next generation of leaders.
Our Mission
The purpose of CCYD is to mobilize and engage young people in Collin County to support Democratic candidates, promote progressive values and policies, and to foster civic participation and leadership development. CCYD is further committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive organization grounded in diversity, equity, and positivity, uplifting marginalized voices and ensuring that all members have meaningful opportunities to participate, lead, and thrive.
Adopted in CCYD bylaws, July 2, 2026.
Our Vision
Young people need a real seat at the table in Collin County. Our vision is to build sustainable youth power through community, civic education, and action.
Organize and Build Community
CCYD is a space where young people on the left can gather, strategize, learn, and have fun. Meeting like-minded peers empowers us, and that empowerment is the foundation of youth influence in Collin County.
Voter Education and Civic Engagement
Through civic education, we recruit, train, and uplift the next generation of leaders in Collin County.
A Group of Action
We will be remembered for the work we do to help deliver Democratic wins in Collin County. Community is our foundation, but action is our legacy.
A Message from Our President
Hello Collin County Young Democrats,
This is your fellow young Democrat, Aaron Jolly. I'm excited and deeply honored to have been elected as your new CCYD President earlier this month at our general meeting. This organization has been a source of inspiration for me as we've collaborated, built community, and prepared for the 2026 election. Getting to know so many of you has been a highlight of my time here, and if we haven't met yet, I'm looking forward to it.
Since moving to Collin County last year, one thing has become unmistakably clear: young people need a seat at the table. The voting statistics for our age group show how often we feel disconnected from the political process. Electing Democrats will always be our mission, but engaging young voters has been a long-standing challenge, one that we must take on ourselves. We've relied on previous generations for too long, and it remains the exception, not the norm, for young people to hold positions of influence. It's time to change that.
Since joining CCYD leadership earlier this year, I've emphasized three priorities:
We will organize and build community. Many of us feel isolated in what can feel like a Republican county and state. CCYD should be a space where young people on the left can gather, strategize, learn, and have fun. Meeting like-minded peers empowers us, and that empowerment is the foundation of youth influence in Collin County.
We will become a leading voter education and civic engagement organization for young adults. Through our civic education efforts, we will recruit, train, and uplift the next generation of leaders in Collin County.
We will be a group of action. We will be remembered for the work we do to help deliver Democratic wins in Collin County. Community will be our foundation, but action will be our legacy.
In the months ahead, we will push ourselves outside our comfort zone and grow in ways that meaningfully mobilize young voters for this year's midterms. Campaigns and organizations preparing for this cycle cannot succeed without us. This county needs young leaders and energy like never before.
As we begin this new chapter, here's what you can expect:
Stronger coordination with CCDP and partner organizations. GOTV efforts will begin warming up in early August, and CCYD will be part of that momentum.
More opportunities for members to get involved. Whether you're new to organizing or a seasoned volunteer, we will make space for everyone to contribute.
A focus on building sustainable youth power, not just for this election, but for the long-term strength of Collin County's Democratic community.
I want this year to be collaborative. CCYD is strongest when our members help shape our direction. I'll share my ideas, but I want to hear yours: your priorities, your passions, and the changes you want to see.
Thank you for trusting me with this role. I'm ready to get to work, and I'm grateful to be doing it alongside all of you.
Let's build something powerful together.
In solidarity,
Aaron Jolly
